Maurice Hugh Frederick Wilkins is a British biophysicist in New Zealand, and X-ray diffraction studies of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) were important in determining the molecular structure of DNA by James Watson and Sir Francis Crick. For this study, three scientists shared the 1962 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine.
