Step 1 – Confirm your eligibility: Ensure that you fulfill the criteria related to your medical school, medical degree title, and graduation year. Refer to the AMC Candidate Account Guide for detailed information on eligible medical schools and graduation years.
Step 2 – Create a MyIntealth Account: MyIntealth is an online platform facilitated by ECFMG to authenticate and verify your medical credentials. Create a MyIntealth account, and you should receive your MyIntealth ID within 2–3 business days.
Step 3 – Create an AMC Candidate Account: Establish an AMC candidate account to facilitate communication and document sharing between you and the AMC. If you don’t have an account, create one. Read the AMC candidate account Terms of Use before proceeding.
Step 4 – Establish an AMC Portfolio: After completing Steps 1, 2, and 3 (if not already created), and having your MyIntealth ID, you can establish an AMC Portfolio. Check FAQs to determine if a portfolio is required. Note that certain document types, such as medical registrations, PhDs, or Australian/Australasian qualifications, are not eligible.
Your AMC Portfolio application will be reviewed within 5 AMC business days. Fees apply for establishing the initial portfolio and adding additional qualifications.
Step 5 – Proceed with Your Eligible Pathway: Choose the appropriate assessment pathway based on your eligibility and career goals. Options include the Standard Pathway, Competent Authority Pathway, Specialist Pathway, and Short-Term Training in a Medical Specialty Pathway.
Step 6 – Qualification(s) Verified: Add all eligible qualifications verified by ECFMG to your AMC candidate account. The verification information will be accessible through the AMC secure portal for the Medical Board of Australia and relevant specialist college(s) for registration and assessment purposes.
Ensure that the verification status is updated to “yes” once received from ECFMG. Refer to the AMC Candidate Account Guide for detailed information on adding qualifications and the verification process.
