Medical Scores – T
THREATENED LIMB CLASSIFICATION (WIFI SYSTEM):
- Scores are assigned on a “none/mild/moderate/severe basis (0/1/2/3)” using multiple specified criteria in the same fundamental categories as the University of Texas system.
TIMI RISK SCORE FOR UA/NSTEMI:
Characteristics | Points |
Historical
Age ≥65 yr ≥3 risk factors for CAD Known CAD (stenosis ≥50%) Aspirin® use in past 7 d |
1 1 1 1 |
Presentation
Recent (≤24 h) severe angina ST-segment deviation ≥0.5 mm Increased cardiac markers |
1 1 1 |
- Risk Score = Total Points
- If TIMI risk score ≥3, consider early LMWH and angiography
- TIMI = thrombolysis in myocardial infarction
- UA = unstable angina
- Newer, more accurate risk quantification scores for UA/NSTEMI exist, such as the GRACE Risk Score; however, TIMI is still used most often.
THORACOSCORE:
- It is the most widely used model to assess risk of operative mortality in thoracic surgery
- It is done preoperatively
- It is based on 9 variables
