EXAM PATTERN OF NEET Exam Pattern of NEET-UG 2021 NEET, NEET-UG, Pattern of NEET(UG)

  • Type of Question: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) with four options and a single correct answer/best option.
  • Duration: 3 hrs (02:00 pm to 05:00 pm).
  • Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs):
    1. Each Question Carries 04 (four) marks.
    2. To Answer a Question: The candidate has to find the correct answer/ best option  for each question, 
    3. Each Correct Answer / Best Option: the candidate will get 04 (four) marks.
      • More than one option is found to be correct:  all / any one of the multiple correct/best options marked will be given four marks (+4).
    4. Each Incorrect Answer: 01(one) mark will be deducted from the total score(-1).
    5. Unanswered / Unattempted questions: will be given no marks.
    6. In case, a question is dropped/ ignored:  all candidates will be given four marks (+4) irrespective of the fact whether the question has been attempted or not attempted by the candidate.

The marking scheme is missing

  • Format of the Exam: Pen & Paper-based test, to be answered on the specially designed machine gradable sheet using Ball Point Pen.
  • Medium of the Question Paper (11 languages):
    1. English
    2. Hindi
    3. Assamese
    4. Bengali
    5. Gujarati
    6. Kannada
    7. Marathi
    8. Odia
    9. Tamil
    10. Telugu
    11. Urdu
  • Instructions pertinent to the Medium of the Question Paper:
    1. While filling in the Application Form: Option of medium of Question Paper should be carefully chosen (once chosen cannot be changed)
    2. Candidates opting for English: would be provided Test Booklet in English only.
    3. Candidates opting for Hindi: would be provided Bilingual Test Booklet in English and Hindi.
    4. Candidates opting for Regional languages: would also be provided Bilingual Test Booklet in selected Regional language and English.
    5. In case of any ambiguity in translation of a question in the test: the English version shall be treated as final and the decision of NTA shall be final in this regard.
    6. Candidates qualifying NEET (UG) – 2020 would be eligible for All India Quota and other quotas under the State Governments/Institutes, irrespective of the medium of the examination, subject to other eligibility criteria.

    1. Allotment of centers will be done by the Computer (no human intervention).
    2. Candidates should select four Convenient City Codes as their choice of center cities in order of their priority while filling up the online application form.
    3. Candidates may select the city codes for their own city or for neighboring cities in their state of residence only and not for faraway cities in other States for their convenience.
    4. NTA reserves its right not to allow any center in that city when the number of candidates opting for a city is less than a certain minimum,
    5. Candidates may be allotted center in another city irrespective of the city opted by the candidates for appearing in the examination when the number of candidates opting for a city as a center with Regional language (other than English and Hindi) is less than a certain minimum.
    6. NTA reserves its right to allot a center in the city other than the candidate’s choice.
