Internal Medicine syllabus in China
Course Description:
- This course offers a 2-semester learning program in internal medicine.
- The program is designed to provide practical and didactic education in the broad field of internal medicine.
- All of the major internal medicine subspecialties are taught by qualified faculty.
- Each student has an opportunity to become proficient in all procedures common to the internist. On the basis of handling the basic medical knowledge, the major task is to know how to diagnose, make a differential diagnosis and treat the common internal medicine diseases.
- This subject also focuses on the adult patient population by concentrating on in-depth evaluation and ongoing treatment of patients, with complex problems and / or chronic illness. We will cultivate and foster the professional development of students to become doctors responsive to the needs of the community as well as the individual patient.
Teaching methods
- Lecture, ward visit, laboratory practice.
- Classroom lecture by media mix, Practice, visit the ward. Show the typical cases and make the students have sensible knowledge.

Examination pattern & marks distribution
- There will be two examinations in this course.
- The examinations will be allotted 50 minutes and will consist of objective style questions, (multiple choice and true/false) and short answer/discussion.

- The examinations will count 80% (40% per examination) of the course grade.
- The others count up to 20%.
- The student will be accredited if his total score is over 60.
- The examinations will cover material presented in the sessions, laboratories, Chapters of the text and study guide, and related AV.
- Each test will be up to 50 questions in length: You are encouraged to review your graded examination within two weeks after taking the examination.
