NEET Application step by step process

NEET Application Step by Step Process – Check List for filling the Online NEET Application Form ensure the following points):

  • They should fulfill the eligibility conditions of the test.
  • They should select the gender that is male/female/transgender.
  • They should select the category that is General/General-EWS/OBC-NCL (Non-Creamy Layer)/SC/ST.
  • Only the PWD candidate should fill the correct column in the online application form.
  • They should take a proper printout of the confirmation page for their own record.

Particulars to be filled in the online NEET application form:

  1. Nationality
  2. Self-Declaration, Gender, Category
  3. Permanent Address & Correspondence Address
  4. Passport Number/Ration Card Number/Bank Account Number/Any other valid Govt. Id. Number / Aadhaar Number (last 4 digits)Class XII Roll number issued by the Board/ Election Card (EPIC No.)
  5. State/District of Birth
  6. Father’s/Guardian’s/Mother’s Occupation, Educational Qualifications, total annual Income
  7. The medium of Question Paper
  8. Year of Class XII/Equivalent passed/appearing
  9. Percentage of marks/Grade in class X/ Class X and Equivalent
  10. State/District of Class X, XI & XII
  11. Religion
  12. Minority Status
  13. Disability Status as per guidelines of MCI
  14. Type of Institution of Class XII/ Equivalent
  15. Belonging to the Rural/Urban area
  16. Mode of preparation for the NEET (UG).
  17. State to which the applicant belongs/desires to apply
  18. Qualifying Examination Code
  19. School Education Board
  20. Choice of Examination Centres/Cities

NEET Application Process Step I: Registration

  • Log on to www.ntaneet.nic.in.
  • Information to be filled in the Online Application Form:
    • Candidate’s Name (with correct spellings as given in the Secondary School Examination or equivalent Board/ University Certificate in capital letters).
    • Names of Father/Mother and Candidate (with correct spellings as given in the Secondary School Examination or equivalent Board/ University Certificate in capital letters).
    • Date of Birth (dd/mm/yyyy).

Identification Type:

Category of Candidates Types of permissible IDs
Indian Nationals of all States
  • Valid Identity Card: Aadhaar Number (last 4 digits)/Class XII Roll number issued by the Board/Election Card (EPIC No.)/Passport number/Ration Card Number/ Bank Account Number/number of Other Photo Identity Card issued by Government.
NRIs
  • Passport Number, Aadhaar (last 4 digits)
Foreign Nationals/ OCI/PIO
  • Passport Number
  • Permanent address with the pin code.
  • Mobile Number (own or parents only for future correspondence).
  • Email id (own or parents only for future correspondence).
  • NTA will communicate through SMS or e-mail on the given mobile number and e-mail ID.
  • Candidate should not give the postal address, contact number/mobile number, and e-mail ID of Coaching Centres in their Online Application Form.

NEET Application Process Step II: Fill in the complete Application Form

  1. Category:
    • General: EWS, SC, ST & OBC-NCL are available in the drop-down list under the Category option.
    • Other Backward Classes (OBC-NCL): as per the Central List of Other Backward Classes available on the National Commission for Backward Classes (NCBC).
    • Economically Weaker Section (EWS): As per the OM No. 20013/01/2018-BC-II dated January 17, 2019, issued by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.
    • No Caste Certificate is to be uploaded in the Online Application FormAll the necessary documents related to Caste and Community will be verified at the Counselling by concerned Central/State counseling authority. 
  2. Nationality: Indian/NRI/OCI/PIO/Foreign Nationals
  3. State/UT Code:  submit their state/UT code as Appendix
  4. PWD (Person with Benchmark disabilities) Status: certificate of the Competent authority To be submitted when claiming the relaxation under PWD category
  5. Choice of Examination Cities: candidate can select 4 cities for examination however  allotment for the center is only made by then the computer
  6. The medium of Question Paper: English/Hindi/local languages
  7. Academic Details:
    • Candidates have to fill the academic details of standard X, XI & XII and those are cleared in the examination should fill the column [02 to 07].
    • Candidates appearing in Class XII in 2020 should select qualifying code as 01.
    • The candidate who does not have any qualification that falls on Code numbers 02 to 07 then he should give complete details under the column” others”.
    • Single Girl Child: This option is for those who selected ”Female” in the gender column with no siblings in the family or with twin daughters/fraternal daughter can also select this option
  8. Minority: select any one of the Minority Community that is  Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, and Parsi.
  9. Details of Father/ Guardian /Mother: occupation, Income, and qualification should be filled in this column.

NEET Application Process Step III: Uploading of scanned images

Upload Photograph
  • Passport size Photograph (size: 10 kb to 200 kb)Post Card size photograph (4” X 6”) (Size: 50 kb to 300 kb)
Upload Signature
  • The file size must be between 4 kb to 30 kb.
Upload Left-hand Thumb Impression
  • The file size must be between 10 kb to 50 kb.
Upload Class -X Passing Certificate
  • The file size must be between 100 kb to 400 kb.

NEET Application Process Step IV: Payment of Fee and Status of Receipt

Choose the following options to remit the examination fee (Service/ Processing charges per transaction & GST  (applicable @18%) to be paid by the candidate):

  • Debit/Credit Card
  • Net-banking
  • UPI Mode of Payment through State Bank of India/Syndicate Bank/HDFC Bank/ICICI Bank/Paytm as service provider
Fees payable by the candidate:
General
  • Rs 1500/-
General-EWS/OBC-NCL
  • Rs 1400/-
SC/ST/PWD/Transgender
  • Rs 800/-
Processing charges &GST are to be paid by the candidate as applicable.
  • Complete the steps as instructed.
  • Candidates are advised as following in case, the fee payment status is not ‘OK’ :
    • The transaction is canceled if the fee is paid through credit/debit card and status is not OK (amount will, automatically, be refunded to concerned credit/debit card after the last date of online submission of Application Form or the process of Fee Reconciliation).
    • Such candidates have to pay the fee once again and ensure the OK fee status.
  • Generation of Confirmation Page confirms final submission of Application Form:
    • Print the Confirmation Page after completion of Step-IV (hard copy of the confirmation page it is a proof of fee submission but not required to submit or send your hard copy of confirmation to NTA).
    • Online Application will remain incomplete and unsuccessful if a candidate fails to complete all the steps up to step IV.
    • Application Form has not been submitted successfully if the confirmation page has not been generated.

Important emphasis:

  1. When you pay the fee only your registration will be completed, if it’s not your form will be canceled.
  2. The confirmation page is proof of the submission of the application form.
  3. Fees deduction from the bank is not proof of fees payment.
