The NEET-UG Examination Hall

Timings:

Date of Examination 
Timing and Duration of Examination 
  • 02.00 pm to 5.00 pm (3 hours) 
Centre will be opened by (shall take their seats immediately after the opening)
  • 12.00 noon 
Last Entry to the Examination Centre (shall not be allowed to enter after this time, therefore, leave home well in advance considering all facts like traffic & weather)
  • 1.30 pm 
Sitting on the seat in the Examination Hall/Room 
  • 1.15 pm onwards 
Announcement of Important Instructions and Checking of Admit Cards by the Invigilator 
  • 1.30 pm to 1.45 pm 
Distribution of Test Booklet by the Invigilator 
  • 1.45 pm 
Writing of particulars on the Test Booklet by the Candidate 
  • 1.50 pm 
Test Commences (announcement to this effect will be made by the Invigilator & a signal will be given at the beginning of the examination)
  • 2.00 pm 
Signal at half-time
  • 3.30 pm
Test Concludes (a signal will also be given before the closing time when the candidate must stop marking the responses)
  • 5.00 pm 

Important emphasis:

  • Admit Card: who does not possess the valid Admit Card shall not be allowed to enter & the candidate must show the admit card on demand at any time.
  • Last Entry to the Examination Centre: No candidate shall be allowed to enter the Examination Centre after 1:30 p.m. under any circumstances.
    • NB: re-test shall not be held by the NTA under any circumstances for those who are unable to appear on the scheduled date of test for any reason.
  • Seat with a roll number:  allotted to each candidate must be found out and occupied (candidature shall be canceled when found appearing in the Examination from a seat or room other than the allotted one).

Only the following documents should be brought (those who fails will not be allowed):

Admit Card
  • Passport size photograph affixed on the admit card.
Photograph
  • One passport size photograph to be affixed on Attendance Sheet
Identity proof
  • Valid Original Identity proof, PWD certificate, if applicable.
Post Card photograph
  • One Post Card Size (4” X 6”) colour photograph with white background should be pasted on the Proforma downloaded with the Admit Card (should be handed over to Invigilator at Centre).
Scribe
  • Letter of Undertaking of using own scribe, if applicable. 
  • NB: Those who do not produce thud above-mentioned documents will be disqualified
  • Important instructions: will be communicated to the candidates by the Invigilator for strict compliance before the start of the examination.
  • Invigilation: Invigilator will check Admit Card to ascertain the identity & also put their own signature in the place provided in the Answer Sheet and on the Attendance Sheet
  • Signature & thumb impression: 
    • Must sign twice on the Attendance Sheet: first time immediately after the commencement of examination and second time while handing over the Answer Sheet to the Invigilator
    • Put their left-hand thumb Impressions in the space provided on the Attendance Sheet.
Scribe:
  • For those who wish to get a scribe from their Centre: must contact the Centre one day in advance
  • The Scribe needs to come with valid Government identity proof preferably the same one as mentioned in the Form. 
  • The scribe needs to bring along two passport size photographs. 
  • 20 minutes per hour compensatory time for the duration of the examination will also be allowed to the candidates who are availing the facility of scribe/reader/lab assistant.  

Dos & don’ts of the candidates in the examination hall:

  • Dos:
    1. Should co-operate in frisking with the staff.
    2. Should report well in advance to make themselves available for compulsory physical frisking (on or before 01:30 pm).
    3. Should follow the dress code.
    4. Candidate should regularly visit the website (www.ntaneet.nic.in) & also check registered email/SMS for any update regarding the Examination.
    5. Ensure that the Test Booklet contains as many numbers of pages as are written on the top of the cover page.
  • Don’ts:
    1. Should not bring any barred items (Possession of any such article will attract the penalties of unfair practices).
    2. Should not indulge in any unwanted activities (he/she shall be debarred & liable for criminal action and/or any other action).
    3. Should not leave his/her seat or the Examination Room/Hall until the Test concludes as per the schedule.
    4. should not leave the Room/Hall without handing over their OMR Sheets to the invigilator on duty.
    5. Smoking in the examination center is strictly prohibited.
