Nutrition and Diet Therapy syllabus in China
- Nutrition is a science to study the relationship between all kinds of nutrient and
human health. - It consists of basic nutrition, public nutrition, nutrition throughout the life circle, clinical nutrition, etc.
Course Description:
- The course comprises four parts. Part one is basic nutrition. It will introduce the physiological functions, deficiency diseases, food sources and dietary reference intakes of nutrients, and their digestion, absorption and metabolism.
- Part two is about nutrition throughout the life cycle introducing nutrition during pregnancy and lactation, nutrition in infancy, childhood, and adolescence, and nutrition for adults.
- Part three will introduce community nutrition and health care. It includes community nutrition, dietetic habits, weight management and physical fitness. In part four, diet therapy is introduced.
- It consists of the nutrition management of gastrointestinal disease, coronary heart disease, hypertension, diabetes mellitus and renal disease, surgery, cancer and AIDS.
