Israeli company Salignostics has introduced a groundbreaking saliva-based pregnancy test kit called Salistick, revolutionizing the traditional urine collection method.
The user-friendly kit offers highly accurate results, especially in the early stages of pregnancy, and is set to be available in several European countries, South Africa, the United Arab Emirates, and Israel.
By detecting the hormone human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) in saliva, Salistick achieves an impressive
accuracy rate of around 96.32% on the first day after a missed period and 97.35% on the second day.
This innovative approach was born out of years of research on saliva, which revealed its potential for detecting various bodily changes, including pregnancy and diseases like COVID-19.
Salistick eliminates the need for blood or urine samples, providing women with a cleaner, more convenient, and long-awaited advancement in the pregnancy testing market. The use of saliva as a diagnostic tool opens up possibilities for rapid and non-invasive testing in various medical applications.
